do it yourself > tank top

i have seen quite a few tutorials like this and decided to try it out. here is my version of how to make a tank top out of an extra large t-shirt.

WHAT YOU NEED
- XL sized [or any size that at least fits you] t-shirt
- a tank top for measuring
- scissors
- thread
- needle or sewing machine
-pins
optional:
- buttons
- other little sew-on details

get out the extra large t-shirt and lay it flat on table or floor. which ever works.

 cut off the sleeves.

fold in half.

set tank top on it half way so you have an example to cut after. cut.

you should have something like this once you unfold it. oh, i cut the front my way, you cut it as deep as you would like it.

seam all the raw edges of the neckline. seam together the sides as well.

once that is done you should have something like this. you can stop now and be done with the easiest DIY tank top OR move on to the optional part of this tutorial.

optional! grab a piece as wide and long as you want [use the cut off sleeves], don´t go too extreme though. follow the pictures and you get it. ruffle the piece like i did below..

attatch to the centre of the tank. sew.

add buttons and other pretty things to the ruffled piece. i put mine right on where the thread line goes. you can experiment with different ways.

 all done!!!

i wore it for my outfit number 3
